Animals and other three dimensional sculptures are created with dyed wool fibers by using special barbed felting needles to poke the fibers repeatedly into each other. Layers of wool are then added to form the shapes and create very realistic creatures. Kids have a lot of fun making animals that they can pose, by first creating an armature of wire to then cover with wool and eventually needle felt into a little friend with lots of character that can easily be posed. This class is usually limited to students ages 10 and older.
